Taxation is robbery based on monopoly of weapons

Robert Anton Wilson
About This Quote

If you want to be seen as a good leader, do not tax your people. Instead, tax the ones who would otherwise steal from your people. From a tribal sense, taxation is robbery based on monopoly of weapons. If you take the weapons away from the ones who would steal from others, then it becomes a fair exchange of wealth.

The more powerful someone is, then he or she will no longer want to steal from the other people. However, if you give them all kinds of privileges and make them feel as if they are superior to others, they will not mind taking from others as long as they don’t have to admit that they are doing so.
